Is it hard for you to store all your brushes in a makeup bag? Or maybe is it typical for you to look for makeup accessories all over your place? If the answers are positive, it is high time to end this continuous farce! Make your own etui for makeup brushes and organize your accessories once and for all.

Bamboo etui

If you want to make your own bamboo etui for brushes, you will need: a bamboo sushi mat, an elastic ribbon or a rubber, a needle and a thread of the same colour as the ribbon. Wrap the ribbon around two first bamboo sticks of the mat and stitch them together (you can stick them with a strong hold glue as well). After that, reeve the ribbon through the mat, measuring at the same time larger and smaller compartments for the brushes. Place the brushes inside the compartments. Your bamboo makeup brush etui is now ready.

Felt etui

Collect the following items: two pieces of felt (one half smaller than the other), a ribbon, a threat, scissors, a tailor’s chalk and pins. Take the smaller piece of felt and pin it to the bigger piece, measure brushes off and make small pockets for them (mark them with the tailor’s chalk and pins). Stitch the pieces along their sides as well as in the places where you stick in the pins. You can also stitch the ribbon and use it as a kind of a fastener. Just one last remark, felt composes well with embroidery.

What can replace makeup brush etui?

Find either a glass container or a jar. Decorate it anyway you want – paint it, wrap with a colourful, patterned paper or fabric, sprinkle with glitter, stick sparkling crystals or decorative beads. Fill the jar with little balls made of either plastic or glass (marbles). You can use little stones or coffee grains too. Put the makeup brushes inside. It is also a good idea to make two jars, one for face brushes and the second, a smaller one, for eye shadow brushes.

Makeup brush case for advanced

If you are rather for original solutions, try to apply this idea. Saw out a piece of fairly thick branch. Keep in mind that its length has to be no shorter than half of the longest brush you own. Now, drill as many holes in the piece of wood as many brushes you have. After that, put all the makeup brushes inside your wooden case. Certainly, the case will be prettier if you paint it with special wood paint.
